Burlo building fire contained, two sheds destroyed, no injuries

On the evening of 5 July 2026, a fire broke out around 20:20 in a shed located behind residential buildings on Mühlenweg in Burlo, Germany. Firefighters from the Borken fire department, including a ladder truck, and units from Burlo and Weseke responded. The blaze completely consumed the initial shed and severely damaged an adjoining shed and hedgerow, but flames were prevented from reaching the nearby houses. No people were injured and authorities reported no danger to residents. Fire‑fighting operations continued into the night, and the extent of property loss remains unclear. Police investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
