Bursa's Nilüfer District expands drinking‑water capacity and schedules 9‑hour cutoffs

The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, through its BUSKİ General Directorate, is upgrading the drinking‑water system in Nilüfer. Work on a supply line and storage integration with the Çınarcık Water System covers the Çamlıca, Konak and Kültür neighbourhoods and aims to raise daily capacity from 80,000 m³ to 120,000 m³. As of the report the project is about 70 % complete, with a 200‑metre, 1.2‑metre‑diameter steel pipe installed, and is targeted for completion by June 2026.

To complete the upgrades, BUSKİ has announced two planned water service interruptions. The first will take place on 29 July 2026 from 09:00 to 18:00, affecting parts of 23 Nisan, Alaaddinbey, Üçevler and Yaylacık neighbourhoods. The second will occur on 30 July 2026 over the same hours, covering sections of İhsaniye, Demirci, Suna, Koşuyolu and other streets in Nilüfer. Both shutdowns are expected to last roughly nine hours, after which water will be restored gradually to balance system pressure.
