Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry sets election date for 2026

The Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) has announced that its organ elections will take place on October 1, 2026. BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay emphasized that the election should serve as a day of democracy and collective future-building for the Bursa business community rather than a day of division.

Burkay highlighted the ongoing digital transformation within the organization, specifically noting the BTSO SME Dialogue application. This platform is intended to cover all 60,000 members, allowing them to contribute to decision-making processes digitally and facilitating cooperation through shared purchasing and capacity sharing.

In anticipation of the upcoming elections, businessman Ercan Sönmez issued a call for ethical conduct within the business community. Sönmez urged candidates to focus on projects and visions rather than personal attacks or character assassination, stating that competition should be based on concrete data and facts to avoid harming the local business environment.
