Bursa clears 1.75 km of Nilüfer Creek in Hüdavendigar park

Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyesi and the municipal water and sewerage directorate (BUSKİ) carried out a large‑scale cleaning operation on the Nilüfer Creek that runs through Hüdavendigar Kent Park. The work, completed before the onset of summer heat, covered a 1,750‑metre stretch of the stream.

The teams deployed three excavator‑loaders, one rubber‑tired loader and six trucks to remove accumulated sediment, organic and inorganic debris, and to restore normal water flow. The objective was to prevent unpleasant odors, reduce mosquito and other pest breeding sites, and improve the environmental hygiene of the park area ahead of the hot season.
