Bursa expands industrial capacity with TEKNOSAB and new SME zone
Bursa is undergoing a significant industrial transformation through the TEKNOSAB Technology Organized Industrial Zone and its new KOBİ OSB (SME Organized Industrial Zone). Designed to integrate high-quality manufacturing, digitalization, and environmental sustainability, TEKNOSAB aims to provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with access to advanced technological infrastructure, including R&D centers, fiber optic networks, and clean energy.
The TEKNOSAB ecosystem covers diverse sectors such as automotive, machinery, technical textiles, electronics, aerospace, defense, and railway technologies. Total investments in the region are expected to reach $25 billion. The site benefits from strategic logistics, including proximity to the Istanbul-Izmir Highway, the Bandırma-Bursa High-Speed Train Line, and the ports of Bandırma and Gemlik.
Local business leaders, including representatives from Bursa PERDER, have expressed strong support for these transformation initiatives led by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO). They noted that macro projects like the KOBİ OSB and Food OSB are essential for strengthening the city's economic infrastructure and enhancing the global competitiveness of the local retail, wholesale, and production sectors.
