Turkish municipalities conclude summer cultural and youth festivals
Various municipalities across Turkey have concluded summer cultural and entertainment programs for children and families.
In Bursa, the 2nd Puppet and Karagöz Meeting was held across seven locations in collaboration with UNIMA Türkiye. The three-day event, part of the 700th anniversary of the conquest of Bursa, featured 14 different shadow play and puppet performances, involving 30 Karagöz masters and 14 puppet artists. Additionally, a children's festival was organized in the Nilüfer district, featuring band performances, magic shows, and traditional Karagöz-Hacivat shadow plays.
In Çanakkale, the Culture Route Festival concluded after hosting a wide range of concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and cultural programs. Ismail Kaşdemir, Head of the Çanakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Area, noted the high level of public interest and thanked the participating institutions and citizens.
In Istanbul, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) hosted 'Entertainment Stops' at 10 different locations throughout the summer. The program reached approximately 349,000 people, offering activities ranging from sports and table tennis to technology-focused experiences like virtual reality and robot volleyball.
In Zeytinburnu, the municipality concluded its summer activities at Bilgi Evleri with an award ceremony. The nine-week program reached approximately 6,500 children through 17 different courses, workshops, and museum visits.
