Bursa Hungarica scholarship applications open in Hungarian municipalities
Municipalities in Hungary, including Balatonkenese and Békéscsaba, have announced calls for applications for the Bursa Hungarica Higher Education Municipal Scholarship Program for the upcoming academic cycles.
The program offers two types of support. Type A is designated for disadvantaged higher education students currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate, master's, or undivided training programs who maintain permanent residency in the municipality. Type B is aimed at disadvantaged high school students graduating in the 2026/2027 academic year who intend to begin full-time higher education in the 2027/2028 academic year.
Eligibility is determined by social disadvantage, defined by a monthly net income per capita threshold. For the 2027 cycle, this threshold is set at 156,750 HUF. Monthly scholarship amounts for Type A applicants vary based on income levels, ranging from 20,000 HUF to 25,000 HUF over a 10-month period.
