Bursa Technical University leads Erasmus+ EPOSAM project

Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) is coordinating the EPOSAM Project, an Erasmus+ supported initiative aimed at promoting the use of open-source Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software in industry. The project has secured the highest grant category under the Erasmus+ KA220-VET program, making it the only university project in Turkey to receive this level of funding.

The primary objective is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by reducing the high costs associated with commercial software licenses, thereby making research and development (R&D) more accessible and sustainable. The project also focuses on training students, young engineers, and scientists to effectively use open-source tools.

Spanning 36 months, the project involves an international consortium including Aalborg University (Denmark), Esslingen University and Saarland University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and Krakow University of Technology (Poland). The German engineering firm HyperSys GmbH and the Turkish aerospace company TUSAŞ are also involved. A pilot program will include 12 young engineers and 12 companies from Turkey, Germany, Poland, and Denmark.
