Bursa trade evolution panel held in Osmangazi
Osmangazi Municipality hosted a panel titled 'From the Grand Bazaar to Industry: Bursa's Trade and Production Journey' at the Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum. Held in collaboration with the Bursa Businesswomen and Managers Association (BUİKAD), the event was organized to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the conquest of Bursa.
The panel examined the evolution of Bursa's long-standing trade culture into its modern industrial and production ecosystem. Speakers included Aslı Türkün Karaçor, a board member of Türkün Holding, and İhsan İpeker, a board member of İpeker Tekstil.
Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın highlighted the historical significance of the region, noting that Bursa has been a center for various civilizations, including the Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans. He emphasized that many current industrialists developed their trade skills within the Grand Bazaar before expanding into larger industrial operations.
