Overview

The Osmangazi Municipality in Bursa has undertaken several local initiatives involving infrastructure and cultural events.

In early September, the municipality opened a new market area in the Emek Adnan Menderes neighborhood, featuring 62 vendor stalls. Mayor Erkan Aydın indicated that future developments for the site may include a parking lot and a children’s park, while officials monitor whether a roof is necessary to protect shoppers from weather conditions.

Following these infrastructure developments, the municipality concluded a national photography competition themed ‘Conquest and Sports’ to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the conquest of Bursa. Organized with the Bursa Cinema and Photography Art Association, the event received 450 submissions from 142 photographers across 30 provinces, with winning works exhibited at the Panorama 1326 Bursa Conquest Museum.
