Bursa Water Authority's 2025 Activity Report Approved by City Council

The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council unanimously approved the 2025 activity and final accounts report of BUSKİ, the city's water and wastewater authority. The session was chaired by Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba and featured a presentation by Bülent Ocak, head of Strategy Development at BUSKİ.

Ocak detailed the agency's assets: 933 water reservoirs, 788 deep wells, 40 drinking‑water treatment plants, 133 sewage‑treatment facilities, 52 km of river rehabilitation and 739 km of river cleaning. He noted a water loss rate of 19.73% for 2025, a reservoir fill level of about 97.8%, and that the Çınarcık treatment plant is close to completion.

Deputy Mayor Biba emphasized transparency and citizen‑focused water management, stating, “Citizens will decide based on the water‑bill index,” and warned against populist policies that could burden residents. The report was adopted with full consensus.
