Burundi advances economic and security initiatives

Burundi is advancing several economic and security initiatives. President Evariste Ndayishimiye inaugurated the TOHA Hotel in Bujumbura, a 12-story building, while urging local investors to prioritize domestic projects to support the nation's 2040 and 2060 development visions.

In the economic sector, President Ndayishimiye met with officials from the Ministry of Mining, Energy, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism to improve departmental performance. He set a goal for these sectors to eventually contribute 50% of the national budget.

Strengthening international ties, a US delegation led by Chargé d’Affaires Bridget Premont met with the President to discuss cooperation in the mining and energy sectors, aiming for shared economic growth and sustainable development. Additionally, the East African Community (EAC) donated two vehicles to Burundi's Ministry of the Interior to assist in the fight against cross-border crime and promote regional integration.
