Morumbi construction site collapse kills one, injures five

On July 25, a partial collapse of metal framework and freshly poured concrete at a high‑end building site in São Paulo’s Morumbi neighbourhood caused one worker’s death and injured five others – three with serious injuries and two with minor injuries. Police, the fire brigade and a rescue helicopter responded; rescuers had to free a worker trapped under the structure. The incident remains under investigation. Police captain Jaelson Nobre said the deceased was a welder who was crushed by the metalwork.
