Busan hosts global tourism and gastronomy summits

Busan is positioning itself as a major global tourism hub through high-level international summits and strategic partnerships. The city is hosting the 2nd Global City Tourism Summit, which brings together representatives from 31 cities across 16 countries to discuss sustainable urban tourism and the '2040 Sustainable City Tourism Common Vision'.

In conjunction with these efforts, the Global Gastronomy Forum 2026 was held to explore the future of culinary tourism, focusing on the value of local ingredients and regional food cultures. The forum featured renowned international chefs and experts discussing how local flavors can achieve global competitiveness.

Additionally, Busan has reported significant growth in international visitors following a strategic partnership with the digital travel platform Agoda. The collaboration has driven a 77% increase in searches for the city, successfully attracting both first-time and repeat international travelers to the region.
