Busan hosts UNESCO World Heritage Committee as Lotte Wellfood promotes Korean snack

The 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee convened in Busan, South Korea, at the BEXCO convention center from 19 to 29 May. Lotte Wellfood participated as an official cooperation agency, showcasing a special edition of its Pepero snack engraved with Korean heritage motifs such as Gwanghwamun and traditional patterns for delegates and visitors.

Busan city completed preparations for the meeting, establishing safety, transport, disaster‑response and medical systems, conducting joint anti‑terror drills, and providing dedicated shuttle buses for participants. The city also organized cultural programmes including heritage field trips, a welcome dinner with a special performance, and plans to adopt a "Busan Declaration" and pursue future UNESCO‑related projects.
