Busan launches 14th Korea International Marine Leisure Week

South Korea’s Busan Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries opened the 14th Korea International Marine Leisure Week (KIMA WEEK 2026) at Dadaepo Beach on 30 September. The four‑day festival runs through 2 October and is organized by the Korea Marine Leisure Network.

The program includes a beach concert, open‑air cinema, indie‑band performances, beach yoga, stand‑up paddle‑boarding and a range of water‑sport activities such as surfing, yacht tours and jet‑boat rides. On 1‑2 October, about 200 athletes will compete in the national beach rowing championship, featuring nine beach‑rowing and eighteen indoor‑rowing events.

Since 2013 the event has been held annually on Busan’s main beaches to promote marine‑leisure culture and stimulate the related tourism and industry sectors.
