Busan marine leisure tourism promotion

South Korea’s Busan Metropolitan City rolled out a summer marine‑leisure program that offers surfing, paddle‑boarding, yacht trips and other water activities across Dadaepo, Gwangalli and Haeundae beaches, backed by safety patrols and equipment rentals. The Korea Tourism Organization paired the initiative with a worker‑vacation‑support travel fund, providing up to 50 percent discounts for domestic trips, especially to North Jeolla’s wellness sites.

The following day, Busan and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries opened the 14th Korea International Marine Leisure Week at Dadaepo Beach. The four‑day festival (30 Sept‑2 Oct) includes concerts, open‑air cinema, beach yoga, indie‑band shows and competitive beach rowing, aiming to further embed marine‑leisure culture and stimulate tourism and related industry sectors.

Together, the program and the festival illustrate Busan’s coordinated effort in 2026 to expand marine‑leisure offerings, attract visitors, and support local businesses through events and financial incentives.
