Bushehr Province contributes 8% to Iran's GDP

Bushehr Province has become a strategic economic hub in Iran, contributing approximately 8 percent to the national GDP. Following Tehran and Khuzestan, the province ranks among the highest in economic volume.

Ali Esmailpour, Deputy of Exports and Transit for Bushehr Customs, noted that the province possesses 14 customs offices, the second highest in the country after Hormozgan. This extensive network supports significant commercial and customs activities. Furthermore, Bushehr hosts a major maritime presence, with over 1,980 traditional vessels operating in the province out of a total of 2,800 in southern Iran.

Esmailpour emphasized that the role of customs has expanded beyond revenue collection and formalities to include oversight in areas such as trade, health, environment, and tourism.
