Business leaders sign Manifesto Pró-Brasil to support national sovereignty
A group of prominent Brazilian entrepreneurs and academics has launched the ‘Manifesto Pró-Brasil’, a supra-partisan initiative aimed at defending national sovereignty and democracy. The movement includes figures such as Amarílio Macêdo of Grupo J. Macêdo, Vilmar Ferreira of Grupo Aço Cearense, and Ticiana Rolim, founder of Somos Um – Holding Social.
The manifesto advocates for institutional stability, social development, and dialogue between different political currents. While supporting the candidacy of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the document seeks to unite sectors ranging from the progressive left to the moderate center and right. It specifically appeals to voters who supported other candidates or abstained during the first round, urging them to prioritize the republican future and democratic freedoms over individual political disagreements.
The initiative emphasizes that Brazil’s autonomy regarding its natural resources—including land, water, oil, minerals, and biodiversity—is non-negotiable. It also highlights the importance of protecting national innovations and the electoral process.
