Brazilian business sector political and social manifestos
Overview
In October 2026, various Brazilian business groups and leaders launched initiatives to address social and political stability. Initially, nine business movements representing over 700 large organizations met in São Paulo to release a manifesto focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This document framed the protection of social rights and the strengthening of institutions as vital for sustainable economic development, responding to discourses that “delegitimize inclusion policies.”
Shortly thereafter, a group of entrepreneurs and academics launched the ‘Manifesto Pró-Brasil’. This supra-partisan initiative focuses on defending national sovereignty and democracy. While expressing support for the candidacy of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the movement seeks to unite diverse political sectors, from the progressive left to the moderate center and right. The manifesto emphasizes the non-negotiable nature of Brazil’s autonomy over natural resources, such as land, water, oil, and biodiversity, and calls for the protection of the electoral process and national innovation.
