Busko‑Zdrój hosts 27th International “Lato z Chopinem” Festival

On 19 July 2026, the town of Busko‑Zdrój in Poland opened its 27th International Festival of Barbara Hesse‑Bukowska, “Lato z Chopinem”, dedicated to the music of Frédéric Chopin. The opening concerts were led by South Korean pianists Hyuk Lee and Hyo Lee, who previously gained international attention at the 19th Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

Artistic director Jolanta Pszczółkowska‑Pawlik highlighted the brothers as “absolute stars of world piano”. Hyuk Lee presented nocturnes Op. 62, Ballade III and Mozart‑based variations, while Hyo Lee performed the rarely heard Sonata in C‑minor Op. 4. Both emphasized the emotional depth of Chopin’s works and expressed delight in sharing them with the audience. Hyuk Lee also recalled a prior appearance three years earlier at the Krystyna Jamroz Music Festival in Busko‑Zdrój.
