Butte-aux-Cailles swimming pool to undergo renovation through 2028

The Butte-aux-Cailles swimming pool in Paris's 13th arrondissement will undergo a major renovation phase starting September 7, with works expected to continue until 2028. The project, costing approximately 5.5 million euros, involves renewing the pools, roof, and solarium.

The closure will be implemented progressively. The bathhouses are scheduled to reopen in mid-November, followed by the indoor pool in the spring of 2027. The outdoor pools and a new fitness room for seniors and sports associations are slated to be completed by 2028.

This intervention follows a previous renovation conducted in 2013-2014. According to Jérôme Coumet, the mayor of the 13th arrondissement, the current works aim to complete the global renovation by addressing the roof and interior elements, such as 1970s tiling, while also creating an outdoor extension near rue du Moulinet.
