BVBank Leads Massive Profit Surge Among Vietnamese Banks in H1 2026
In the first half of 2026, Vietnamese banks reported unusually strong profit growth. BVBank posted a 486% rise, earning 547 trillion VND before tax, the highest increase in the sector. ABBank followed with an 80% jump to 3,016 trillion VND, while Vietbank, PGBank and NCB also posted gains of 79%, 66% and 57% respectively.
The profit boom translated into higher compensation for staff. LPBank recorded the strongest salary growth, with average monthly earnings of about 37 million VND per employee. Techcombank raised its average to 39 million VND (about 46 million VND including allowances), up 6 million VND year‑on‑year. By contrast, VPBank’s average fell to roughly 36 million VND as headcount rose sharply, despite a slight increase in total payroll spending.
