Suzuki unveils e-Sky electric kei car with 310 km range

Suzuki has unveiled the e-Sky, its first dedicated electric kei car designed to facilitate a smooth transition for current gasoline-powered vehicle owners. Built on the HEARTECT-e platform, the compact vehicle is designed for urban mobility with a focus on simplicity and affordability.

The e-Sky features a 26-kWh LFP battery, sourced from BYD subsidiary FinDreams, which provides a claimed range of 310 km. Despite the small battery, the car achieves high efficiency due to its lightweight construction, weighing approximately 1,030 kg. Technical specifications include a 64 HP motor with 133 Nm of torque and a 50 kW rapid charging capability that can reach 80% in about 25 minutes.

Dimensions follow kei car regulations, measuring 3,395 mm in length and 1,475 mm in width. The interior is equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. While primarily targeting the Japanese market with a planned release in late 2026, Suzuki is also considering expansion into European markets in 2027.
