Automakers expand electric and hybrid vehicle presence in global markets
Automakers are expanding their electric and hybrid vehicle presence across various global markets. In Colombia, MG has introduced the MG4 EV Urban with promotional pricing starting at $69,990,000 COP.
In Brazil, several manufacturers are making strategic moves. General Motors will begin producing the Chevrolet Captiva PHEV in Ceará by 2026. BAIC is set to launch its Arcfox T1 and T5 electric SUVs in November. GAC is launching the GS9 Ultra, a luxury plug-in hybrid, in Goiânia. Additionally, BYD is planning to produce the Mako, a plug-in hybrid flex pickup, in Bahia starting in late 2026 to compete in the intermediate segment.
In Portugal, Omoda and Jaecoo are strengthening their hybrid offerings through the expansion of Super Hybrid System (SHS) technology in their SUV models.
