BYD introduces ultra-fast Flash Charging technology to Brazil

BYD has introduced its Flash Charging technology to Brazil, marking the arrival of its ultra-fast charging infrastructure in the country. Launched via the luxury brand Denza during the Interlagos Festival, the system provides a maximum power of 1,500 kW. This allows compatible electric vehicles to charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, with a full charge from 10% to 97% achievable in nine minutes.

To prevent local grid overload, the chargers utilize two 190 kWh Blade batteries that act as an energy buffer, storing electricity gradually and discharging it at high speeds. The system features CCS2 connectors with a zero-gravity design and Plug & Charge technology for automatic vehicle identification. The first unit will be installed at a Denza dealership in Brasília, and the company aims to install 1,000 units across Brazil by the end of 2027.

Globally, BYD has already expanded its charging network significantly, reaching 10,000 units across more than 300 cities in China. The company has set an ambitious goal to reach 20,000 Flash Charging stations in China by the end of the year.
