Brazil adds new Jetour and BYD SUVs to market

Jetour has filed a registration for the Tourer, a midsize SUV that is 4.47 m long, 1.88 m wide and 1.70 m high, slightly larger than the VW T‑Cross. The model is expected to launch in China as a fully electric vehicle with two powertrains – a front‑wheel‑drive version of 101 hp and a 271 hp all‑wheel‑drive version – and may later be offered with hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and conventional engines. Jetour also introduced the T2 plug‑in hybrid SUV in Brazil, priced at R$ 289,900 (Advance) and R$ 299,900 (Premium). It combines a 1.5 L turbo engine with a 26.7 kWh battery, delivering up to 1,100 km combined range and a suite of ADAS L2 features.

BYD unveiled the 2027 Song Pro Flex hybrid in Brazil without raising its price, keeping the GL and GS trims at R$ 176,900 and R$ 199,900. The updated model features a refreshed front fascia, a DM‑i 5.0 platform that runs on ethanol and gasoline, and a Blade battery offering up to 72 kWh. Alongside the vehicle, BYD launched a residential solar‑energy kit built in Brazil, priced at R$ 18,438 or 36 interest‑free installments of R$ 512, allowing owners to power both home and car with clean energy. Influencers at the launch highlighted the model’s technology, comfort and design as key factors that could change perceptions of BYD’s vehicles.
