BYD launches Rp17 trillion electric vehicle factory in Subang, Indonesia
BYD has officially commenced operations at its new manufacturing facility in Subang, West Java, Indonesia. The plant represents an investment of Rp17 trillion and spans 126 hectares, with a production capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year. The facility employs over 5,000 workers and handles various manufacturing stages, including body plate forming, welding, and painting.
In Indonesia, BYD continues to expand its market presence, having sold 32,008 units nationally since entering the market in 2024. The company is also conducting a Tech Culture Festival in Makassar to promote electric vehicle technology, such as the Blade Battery and e-Platform 3.0. As of September 2026, BYD's Indonesian price list ranges from approximately Rp190 million to Rp750 million across various models.
Globally, BYD has also updated its pricing for the Turkish market for September 2026, offering models such as the Seal, Sealion 7, and Tang to maintain its position in the electric and plug-in hybrid sectors.
