ByteDance launches Doubao Work AI agent for enterprise productivity

ByteDance has officially launched ‘Doubao Work’, an AI agent designed for enterprise productivity scenarios. The tool is capable of autonomously decomposing tasks, calling tools, and managing complex workflows based on user goals.

A key feature of Doubao Work is its deep integration with Feishu, ByteDance’s enterprise collaboration platform. This integration allows the agent to access corporate context, including chat histories, documents, and meeting minutes, to complete tasks more accurately. The system also allows for the continuous execution of long-running tasks via cloud computers, even if the user's local device is turned off.

In addition to text-based tasks like writing reports or analyzing data, the agent can generate and edit images, videos, web pages, and applications. It can also operate browsers and computers directly with user authorization. The launch positions ByteDance in a competitive landscape alongside other major Chinese tech firms like Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu, as the industry shifts focus from model strength to the ability to master enterprise workflows and proprietary data.
