ByteDance restructures Feishu, Doubao and Volcano Engine for AI‑focused B2B services
On July 30, ByteDance announced a major reorganization of its ToB (business‑to‑business) operations. The Feishu product team will merge with the Doubao (豆包) team to form a new Doubao product unit led by Doubao head Zhao Qi, while Feishu’s GTM (sales, marketing, customer service) organization will combine with Volcano Engine’s GTM to create a “Creativity Service Platform” overseen by Volcano Engine chief Tan Dai. The restructuring aims to embed Doubao’s large‑language‑model AI assistant directly into Feishu’s enterprise workflow, turning the collaboration suite into a unified AI‑enhanced productivity platform.
ByteDance highlighted that Doubao’s daily token calls have surpassed 180 trillion and that more than 90 % of Feishu’s new customers also purchase AI products, underscoring the strategic shift from consumer‑facing chatbots to enterprise AI tools. The move is presented as a way to streamline product development, reduce customer acquisition costs, and deliver a single point of contact for office collaboration, cloud computing and AI services.
The reorganization reflects ByteDance’s broader AI‑first strategy, with increased investment in AI infrastructure and a focus on B2B market growth.
