ByteDance valuation reaches 473 billion euros amid AI expansion

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok and Douyin, has reached a secondary market valuation of approximately 473 billion euros, surpassing SpaceX and OpenAI as one of the world's most valuable private companies. The company's revenue is driven largely by advertising (roughly 60 percent), livestreaming (25 percent), and a growing e-commerce sector. Its core asset remains its recommendation algorithm, which manages content for 1.5 billion users.

In a strategic shift toward artificial intelligence, ByteDance reorganized its corporate structure in early 2026 to integrate AI more deeply, including the integration of its enterprise division, Feishu, with the chatbot Doubao. The company has already reported annual AI-related revenues of approximately 3.4 billion euros.

ByteDance is reportedly developing a massive AI model that could feature up to ten trillion parameters, potentially making it one of the largest models globally and exceeding the scale of competitors like Anthropic. This model would be more than three times the size of China's current leading systems. While the model is in the early training stages, ByteDance is pursuing an independent development path to establish leadership in the field.
