C6 Bank acquires Alymente to enter corporate benefits market
C6 Bank has announced the acquisition of the corporate benefits startup Alymente, marking its entry into a market valued at approximately R$ 150 billion annually. Following the transaction, which awaits Central Bank approval, Alymente will be rebranded as C6 Benefícios, with cards issued via Mastercard.
This move follows BTG Pactual’s recent entry into the same sector and highlights a shift in an industry traditionally dominated by Alelo, Pluxee, VR Benefícios, and Ticket. The changing landscape is driven by reforms to the Worker's Food Program (PAT), specifically Decree 12.712 of 2025. These regulations have lowered entry barriers by mandating an open, interoperable infrastructure, preventing large operators from using closed payment arrangements.
The new regulatory framework also establishes fee caps and shortens the payment transfer period for establishments to 15 days. These changes have leveled the playing field for flexible benefit providers like Caju, Flash, and Swile, which already utilize open networks like Visa and Mastercard.
