Cabo Frio authorities rescue caiman and boa constrictor

Wildlife rescue teams in Cabo Frio, Brazil, have recently responded to two separate incidents involving wild animals in urban and residential areas.

In Campos Novos, a two-meter-long broad-snouted caiman was discovered inside a grease trap on a farm property. The Maritime and Environmental Group (GMA) of the Municipal Civil Guard performed the capture and subsequently released the animal into its natural habitat.

In the Vila do Sol neighborhood, authorities rescued a boa constrictor found in a garden bed near a sidewalk. Although the snake is non-venomous and typically avoids human contact, officials intervened to ensure the safety of residents and the animal. In both cases, authorities advised citizens to maintain distance from wildlife and contact the Municipal Civil Guard for professional assistance.
