Cadillac replaces team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski

Cadillac has implemented a mid-season leadership change in its Formula 1 operation, replacing team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski, the former technical lead at Alpine. The decision follows a difficult start to the season characterized by persistent technical issues, including brake failures, suspension problems, and reliability concerns.

Former driver Marc Surer noted that the appointment of Budkowski, an engineer, is intended to provide stronger technical oversight of the engineering department. Budkowski has begun assessing the team's structure, noting that while some aspects are positive, significant improvements in reliability are required.

Driver Valtteri Bottas expressed that while he expected some level of change due to ongoing technical struggles, the scale of the management overhaul was unexpected. Despite the leadership shift, Bottas stated he has no immediate concerns regarding his seat for the upcoming season and remains focused on the near future. He also praised Lowdon for his foundational work in building the Cadillac F1 project.
