Cadillac unveils V-ONE hybrid racing concept

Cadillac V-ONE Concept V-Series hybrid V8 engine LMDh racing automotive design

Cadillac has unveiled the V-ONE, a single-seat concept study designed to translate competition hardware from its LMDh racing program into a driver-focused experience. Co-developed by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and chassis constructor Dallara, the concept is built upon the foundations of the V-Series.R race car.

The V-ONE features an 830-horsepower hybrid V8 engine and shares technical elements with its racing counterpart, including double-wishbone suspension, pushrod-actuated coil and torsion spring elements, and specific transmission and electronics. The vehicle aims to offer a level of performance similar to the LMDh race car while being easier for customers to operate.

Dominic Najafi, Cadillac’s Executive Design Director, described the concept as the ‘ultimate manifestation of a customer performance concept’ and a signal of the brand’s future ambitions for the V-Series line. The concept's design includes a race-inspired steering wheel with a digital interface and an exterior finish featuring a hand-sprayed gradient.
