Cadillac updates electric vehicle lineup with Optiq and Lyriq details

Cadillac is updating its electric vehicle lineup with changes to the Optiq and technical insights regarding the Lyriq. The 2026 Cadillac Optiq features a new standard single-motor rear-wheel drive configuration, producing 315 horsepower and an estimated 317 miles of range. An optional dual-motor AWD setup increases output to 440 horsepower, while a high-performance Optiq-V model offers 519 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of approximately 3.5 seconds. All 2026 Optiq models will include the North American Charging Standard, providing direct access to the Tesla Supercharger network.

Regarding the Cadillac Lyriq, driving modes such as Sport, Tour, and Snow/Ice affect efficiency and energy consumption rather than the physical capacity of the 102 kWh Ultium battery. While these modes adjust throttle response and power delivery, they do not alter the fixed EPA-rated range. However, user-reported data suggests that aggressive driving in Sport mode can reduce the effective range by 30 to 60 miles per charge compared to more efficient settings.
