Cadillac electric vehicle model updates

Cadillac is updating its electric vehicle lineup, specifically focusing on the Optiq and Lyriq models.

In North America, the 2026 Cadillac Optiq will offer various configurations, including a standard single-motor rear-wheel drive setup and a high-performance Optiq-V model. All models will include the North American Charging Standard for Tesla Supercharger access. Regarding the Lyriq, while driving modes like Sport and Tour adjust throttle response and power delivery, they do not change the fixed capacity of the 102 kWh Ultium battery, though aggressive driving may reduce effective range.

For the Australian market, the 2027 Cadillac Lyriq specifications reveal a single Sport AWD variant. This model features an increased torque of 720Nm and improved acceleration. However, the battery capacity for this model year has decreased from 102kWh to 92kWh, leading to a lower WLTP driving range of 503km and a reduction in DC charging capacity from 190kW to 130kW. The update also includes improved energy efficiency, new driver assistance features, and an upgraded sound system.
