CAF calls for regional digital transformation strategy

CAF, the development bank for Latin America and the Caribbean, has called on political, social, and business leaders in the region to establish a unified position regarding digital transformation and artificial intelligence. During the International Forum “Digitalize to Transform” held in Santiago, Chile, CAF Executive President Sergio Díaz-Granados emphasized that regional coordination is essential to influence global rules on data governance, computing access, standards, employment, and security.

To support these technological shifts, CAF announced it will allocate more than USD 12 billion over the next five years to initiatives and projects featuring significant digital transformation components. The bank aims to act as a bridge for knowledge sharing and dialogue to help the region navigate changes affecting productivity, labor markets, and institutional structures.
