CAF inspects infrastructure for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations hosts
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has completed an eight-day inspection tour across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, the joint hosts for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). A multidisciplinary delegation of experts, covering security, logistics, media, and marketing, evaluated strategic infrastructure to ensure compliance with international standards.
Key inspections included the construction site of the future 60,000-seat Talanta Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, and the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
In preparation for the tournament, the group stage qualifiers for CAN 2027 are scheduled to begin on September 24, 2026. The qualifying phase will feature 48 teams divided into 12 groups, with the exception of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, which have already qualified as co-hosts.
