Cagliari 50‑Year School Reunion Brings Alumni Back to Classrooms

On 29 July 2026, two historic classes of Cagliari’s Liceo Classico Dettori and Liceo Scientifico Pacinotti gathered in their original school after a half‑century. The reunion, organized by a former classmate now teaching at the institute, drew 21 alumni from the Pacinotti class and a group from the Dettori class. Participants, now doctors, notaries, teachers, lawyers and journalists, toured the corridors, the aula magna and the historic Section A, taking the same seats they occupied in 1976. They noted that doors, corridors and bathrooms remained unchanged, while the blackboard had been replaced by modern screens. Alumni such as nutritionist Carlo Diana, journalist Gabriella Saba (now a correspondent in Chile) and Gianni Muresu recalled their school days, and professor of art history Franco Masala, who taught the class in the 1970s, attended the event. Several former classmates could not join because of health, distance or having passed away, but the gathering was described as an emotional reaffirmation of the class spirit that endures after fifty years.
