Monza and Cagliari prepare for Serie A clash

Monza and Cagliari are set to face each other on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the U-Power Stadium for the seventh round of Serie A. The two teams enter the match with contrasting seasonal performances. Cagliari currently sits in fifth place with 13 points, boasting the league's strongest defense with only three goals conceded in six matches. Monza occupies 16th place with four points and has conceded 15 goals so far.

Monza coach Ivan Juric has emphasized the need for defensive compactness and tactical discipline following a recent loss to Lazio. His squad faces several absences, including the suspended Lorenzo Lucchesi and injured players Maye and Zeballos.

Cagliari coach Fabio Pisacane, who will be serving a one-match suspension following a confrontation with Luciano Spalletti, is considering tactical shifts. Potential strategies include deploying a two-striker formation featuring Paul Mendy alongside either M’Bala Nzola or another attacking option. Despite Pisacane's absence from the bench, the team remains in high spirits, bolstered by the recovery progress of young attacker Yael Trepy.
