Yael Trepy transferred to pulmonology ward following near-drowning

Cagliari Calcio forward Yael Trepy has been transferred from intensive care to the pulmonology department at the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari, marking a positive step in his recovery.

The 20-year-old French attacker was hospitalized after a near-drowning incident in a swimming pool in Sardinia on August 16. Following the incident, Trepy was placed in a medically induced coma and placed on mechanical ventilation. Medical officials reported that he has since regained consciousness, appearing alert and cooperative with no apparent neurological deficits.

Dr. Stefania Milia, director of the intensive care unit, confirmed that Trepy’s clinical condition has stabilized, removing the need for intensive assistance. He has begun mobilization with a physiotherapist to assist in his rehabilitation. As a gesture of gratitude, Trepy presented the medical team with personalized Cagliari jerseys before his transfer to the pulmonary ward.
