Brazilian municipalities launch rabies vaccination campaigns

Several Brazilian municipalities are launching rabies vaccination campaigns for dogs and cats to prevent the spread of the virus to humans.

In Maricá, 39 vaccination points will be available this Saturday, covering the 1st and 2nd districts. In Cabo Frio, the campaign includes four specific locations, including the Municipal Kennel Adoption Fair. In Caicó, the vaccination drive coincides with the launch of the Caicó Pet Program, which aims to provide monthly mobile veterinary services and zoonosis control.

In Guarulhos, the vaccination at the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ) requires prior scheduling via telephone. For all campaigns, health authorities emphasize that only healthy animals aged three months or older should be vaccinated. Owners are instructed to use leashes and muzzles for dogs and appropriate transport boxes for cats to ensure safety during the process.
