Caixa Econômica Federal releases Bolsa Família and PIS/Pasep payments

Caixa Econômica Federal is processing multiple social benefit payments in Brazil. For the Bolsa Família program, beneficiaries with a Social Identification Number (NIS) ending in 8 are scheduled to receive their September installments on Monday, September 28. Approximately 19.29 million families are receiving benefits this month, with an average value of R$ 678.18. Notably, 179 municipalities across seven states—including Acre, Amazonas, and Rio Grande do Norte—received early payments on September 17 due to emergency or calamity declarations.

Additionally, Caixa has begun paying a new batch of forgotten funds from the former PIS/Pasep fund. This applies to workers and public servants who were active between 1971 and 1988. Heirs and legal dependents are also eligible to claim these funds. The average amount ranges between R$ 2.8 thousand and R$ 2.9 thousand. Claims can be made via the Repis Cidadão portal or the FGTS app, and must be completed by September 2028 to avoid the funds being permanently incorporated into the National Treasury.

Separately, the Pé-de-Meia program is concluding its September payments for students in the public high school system, with the final round for those born in November and December occurring on September 28.
