Pé-de-Meia program begins sixth installment payments to students

The Brazilian government has begun distributing the sixth installment of the Pé-de-Meia program, a financial incentive designed to encourage high school attendance and reduce dropout rates. Payments are being made to students who maintained at least 80% attendance in July. Regular high school students receive R$ 200, while students in Youth and Adult Education (EJA) receive R$ 225.

The disbursement follows a schedule based on the students' birth months, with payments occurring between September 21 and September 28. Funds are deposited into Caixa Tem savings accounts. Eligibility requires students to be enrolled in the public school system, have a regular CPF, and belong to families registered in CadÚnico with a per capita income of up to half a minimum wage.

In addition to attendance incentives, the program includes completion and Enem-related bonuses. The Ministry of Education is also supporting students through other initiatives, such as specialized programming on Canal Educação to prepare for the Enem exam and the Mulheres Mil program, which offers over 1,300 free professional qualification vacancies for women in vulnerable situations.
