Bolsa Família August payments underway for 19.3 million families

Caixa Econômica Federal is processing the August payments for the Bolsa Família program, benefiting approximately 19.3 million families in Brazil. The average benefit amount is R$ 678.35, with a minimum base of R$ 600. Payments are being distributed according to the final digits of the Social Identification Number (NIS), with the schedule concluding on August 31.

Additional supplements are included in the monthly disbursement, such as the Nutriz Variable Family Benefit for mothers of infants, and extra amounts for families with pregnant women, children up to 6 years old, or children aged 7 to 18. Furthermore, the program includes a protection rule that allows families who increase their income through employment to continue receiving 50% of the benefit for a limited period.

In 186 municipalities across seven states—Amazonas, Bahia, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima, and Sergipe—payments were expedited on August 18 for residents in states of emergency or calamity, regardless of their NIS digit.
