CaixaBank Emphasizes Financial Inclusion and Social Impact Across Spain

CaixaBank, a leading European bank, highlighted its purpose‑driven strategy at the Mediterranean Forum, stressing inclusion, sustainability, innovation and collective wellbeing.

The bank operates more than 4,200 branches in over 3,700 Spanish municipalities, covering 99% of towns with at least 5,000 residents. Mobile offices serve another 1,400 locations with limited or no physical presence, and a workforce of 47,000 staff attends to around 20 million customers.

A dedicated protocol for senior citizens includes training for 30,000 employees, 11,000 accessible ATMs, 24‑hour cash service, early pension payouts on the 24th of each month, and personalized assistance via phone and WhatsApp through a team of gerontology specialists. The Geración+ programme adds financial planning, retirement, dependency and health‑care support.

Accessibility measures also cover people with disabilities, migrants and other vulnerable groups: 400,000 basic‑account holders benefit from adaptive services, and the SVisual video‑interpretation system provides sign‑language support.

Through its micro‑finance arm MicroBank, the group recorded about 280,000 micro‑credit operations in 2025, amounting to over €2.4 billion to fund small‑scale projects across Europe.
