Cal Crutchlow discusses tough Silverstone MotoGP race and future prospects
MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow said he felt “like a passenger” at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, citing a lack of recent track time and challenging wind conditions that forced riders to brake later than usual. He also mentioned a problem with the bike’s height‑adjustment device that did not disengage correctly on the straight. Despite these issues, Crutchlow recorded the fastest lap of his career on the circuit and expressed satisfaction with the work done by his team.
Speaking at a press conference in London, the 40‑year‑old, who is substituting for the injured Johann Zarco at LCR Honda, joked about the odds of winning, quipping “twenty‑one miracles” for the grid. He highlighted the privilege of racing at his home circuit and noted that Silverstone’s contract with MotoGP has been extended through 2028, ensuring the event’s continuation for the next two seasons.
