Cal Crutchlow to ride for LCR Honda at German MotoGP after Zarco injury

Cal Crutchlow, the 40‑year‑old former MotoGP rider, has been confirmed to race for LCR Honda at the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring from 10‑12 July. He is stepping in for Johann Zarco, who suffered severe knee ligament damage in a crash at the Catalunya round and is awaiting surgery due to infection risk. Crutchlow came out of retirement a month ago, has competed in four races without scoring points, and qualified ahead of Toprak Razgatlıoğlu at Assen before finishing just behind wildcard Augusto Fernandez in the Sprint race. The German event will be the final round before the championship’s one‑month summer break, after which Crutchlow could return to his home race at Silverstone if Zarco remains unavailable.
