Calabria establishes health‑social integration board and new emergency specialty networks

The Calabria regional council approved the creation of a Cabina di regia, a cost‑free coordination body that will monitor the integration of health and social services, oversee uniform assistance, and reduce bureaucratic barriers for people with disabilities. The board will ensure the implementation of personalized "Projects of Life" and align resources from the national non‑self‑sufficiency fund.

In the same session, the council endorsed a plan to strengthen emergency care for cardiovascular events, strokes and traumas. The plan introduces itinerant emodynamical teams, shared protocols, and monitoring systems, and formalises the "Rete Stroke" and "Rete SCA" networks to improve rapid diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation across regional hospitals. The initiatives were presented by President Roberto Occhiuto and Welfare Assessor Pasqualina Straface.
